I promise - not all pharma reps are this bad! He had to work hard at not working. I added this to my list of to-read books during my short stint working for an organization that trained people working in the pharmaceutical industry. I enjoyed the book insofar it flowed well with some interesting stories about being a sales rep for a pharmaceutical company.
Satisfaction guaranteed! Read the absorbing new psychological suspense thriller from acclaimed new york times bestselling author marisha pessl. The only problem i had with him reidy exposes the pharma sales sector to be a profit-driven manipulative environment, and that doesnt surprise me. It is an interesting account of why the pharmaceutical industry has changed (for the better), but by no means should it be used as a proof source for how the drug industr it is an interesting account of why the pharmaceutical industry has changed (for the better), but by no means should it be used as a proof source for how the drug industry currently operates.
Edward zwick apenas usou este livro como ponto de partida, acabando por nada ter a ver com o livro. As a doctor myself, im afraid that science is taking more and more of a backseat today.
It was a long time since i read a 200 page book like this one in only a day and laughed this much. I liked that he wrote about his personal experiences and didnt feel the need to make any kind of broader statement-he lets the reader make his or her o ive been simultaneously interested in and disturbed by the practice of pharmaceutical sales for quite some time and was curious to read this insiders account of his time in the industry. I expected it to be all about viagra, but that actually didnt come up until quite a ways into the book.
Then you can start reading kindle books on your smartphone, tablet, or computer - no kindle device required. Its like it seemed like it was a great idea - whats it like to be a pharma rep to sell viagra! - but the reality - at least of reidys life - far less exciting. He then spent two years in pharmaceutical sales with pfizer and eli lilly and company, ranking as the 1 salesman in the nation at both companies.
I liked that he wrote about his personal experiences and didnt feel the need to make any kind of broader statement-he lets the reader make his or her own value judgments. The book does do a great job of clearing up any questions an outsider might have. I checked it our for him out of pity it has sat on the shelves of our library for 5 long years, and not a single person has checked it out. If you were reading this book because you wanted to before the movie came out, do not waste your time. А ако сте гледали филма (като мене) - няма нищо общо, женският образ дори не е споменат в книгата.
There were many events i could relate with in what was formerly known as big pharma that were true and comical at times. Enter your mobile number or email address below and well send you a link to download the free kindle app. His writing style makes me feel like he is having a conversation where he has leaned in to share privileged (and juicy) information with me, resulting in a quick read and leaving me wanting just a bit more. If he meant this to be a tongue-in-cheek history of his performance, i would say his effort was successful. Someone who even though i moved away in the 6th grade, made his mark on me long ago.
I dont understand how someone had to pay reidy the rights to his book to write movie that had nothing to do with it. A couple of the most memorable lines in the book are i witnessed men undergo complete personality makeovers in the presence of female salespeople, and the women had the most basic human response on their side regardless how behind schedule or how crazy the day, a male doctor would snap to attention at a mere whiff of perfume or a glance at a pretty girl, his instinctive desire to reproduce having kicked into gear. It said it was based on the movie love & other drugs and if i hadnt had a chance to watch the movie i love to read the book first. I i find it hard to believe that reidys shenanigans didnt cross the line from juvenile to unlawful. There is very little similarity between the two - other than the main character is a drug rep named jamie.
It looks a lot of reviewers didnt like this book because the author is self-absorbed at times. Segundo, porque ainda no consigo encontrar a analogia do ttulo - amor é o melhor remédio ? Amor? S se fosse amor prprio e o egocentrismo dele prprio, uma vez que ele pensava que era o melhor. Silly me actually thought the movie trailers would have something to do with the book! All i wondered as i read this book was, when does anne hathaways character come into this memoir? She never does. Enjoyed the first half, the second half was kind of slow until the end where it really picked up, then abruptly ended. However, in my opinion, the writer, if he is telling about his actual efforts, comes off as an arrogant, pompous boob. It is not a movie version of the book, and basically they have nothing in common except for the viagra involvement. It is funny and entertaining, but, unlike what the book jacket claims, it is not that scandalous. This tale of his slacking on the job is the equivalent of hearing a fraternity guy say i got so wasted last night. Um, i dont know, jamie, maybe your sales suck because youre lazy and only work 20 hours a week? I just dont think that lifestyle should be rewarded and championed. I expected it to be all about viagra, but that actually didnt come up until quite a ways into the book.Jamie Reidy (born March 31, 1970) is an author, screenwriter and Huffington Post blogger.
